On Thursday 20th March, Guilsborough Academy's Live Lounge delivered an unforgettable evening of music and talent. Students from across year groups took to the stage, captivating the audience with a diverse set list ranging from rock classics to heartfelt ballads.
Year 7 opened the show with Emily Clark and Eloise Peters performing Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day, followed by Cooper Mills’ emotional rendition of Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. Year 8’s The Ready Eddies energised the crowd with Teenage Kicks by The Undertones.
Year 10 impressed with Dillon’s Villains performing Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand and This Charming Man by The Smiths. Susie Perriam-Matthews’ solo of Dream a Little Dream of Me by The Mamas & The Papas was a standout moment, as was Evie Phillips and Dillon Evans’ powerful duet of Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses.
Year 11’s Rock Academy took the stage with Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles and A Forest by The Cure. Charlotte Wealthall’s moving performance of No-One But You by Queen and Eli Zafirova’s rendition of Take Me to Church by Hozier were met with huge applause.
Sixth Form acts rounded off the night with a standout performance from Emily Rose and Eli Zafirova with Blowing Smoke by Gracie Abrams, and Izzy Moore and Mariella Burditt’s touching version of Someone Like You by Adele.
A huge thank you to Ms Billett for directing the evening and to NMPAT and peripatetic teachers Mr Draper, Mr Hickman, and Ms Stevens for supporting the students. Thanks also to Mr Charlton, Mr Jackson, Connie Chapman, admin staff, site staff, PTA, and everyone else who helped make the event a success.
