Vision, Values, Mission

Our community is built on mutual respect as we demonstrate tolerance, trust and honesty. We have high aspirations for all and develop resilience to overcome any obstacles which might stand in our way. We take responsibility for our actions to ensure we are working positively together. We appreciate others by the strength of character they show and promote equality for all.

Our vision, values and mission underpin everything we do. You will find these embedded across all areas of the Academy, within our curriculum, across the PSHE curriculum, throughout our tutoring programme, and in all our extracurricular activities.

All stakeholders, whether attending or working at Guilsborough Academy, agree to embody ‘The Guilsborough Way’, pledging to commit to upholding our vision, values and mission. Guilsborough Academy is built upon four key values:

  • Respect, Aspiration, Responsibility and Equality.

Our values are the cornerstones of who we are and how we do things. They form the basis of how we see ourselves as individuals, how we see others and how we interpret the world in general.

We expect students and staff to uphold our values daily, both at Guilsborough and within the wider community, and for students to carry them forward after leaving school. Challenges may arise, but we’re here to help. We encourage students to strive to be their best, staff will provide the guidance and support they need to develop and succeed.

Each of these contributes to our mission of 'Learning Without Limits'.

Our vision, values are clear – to provide an outstanding education for our students, delivering the very best in teaching, learning, personal development and leadership, whilst promoting independent learning. We are committed to our ‘Learning Without Limits’ mission, inspiring students to reach their full potential.

How do we achieve our Mission?

  • Making the most of our freedoms as an academy
  • Fostering partnership work with local primary and secondary schools and the local community
  • Developing and maintaining regional and national partnerships

Our PSHE (Personal Social Health and Education)  and assembly themes combine to support the development and delivery of the Academy's values.

We maintain a keen focus on our vision for the future:

  • To provide a personalised learning curriculum offering a range of pathways to maximise the potential of all students.
  • To put students at the centre of their own learning, enabling them to have a strong voice and become effective independent learners.
  • To ensure students reach their full potential, using effective learning assessment to ensure appropriate targets, tracking, support, intervention and guidance.
  • To develop the school's capacity to be a centre of learning excellence for all, building effective professional development and training capacity.

The school's professional development and partnership work underpin all areas of development, from a focus on raising standards and using innovative teaching and learning styles through to the effective use of technology to support monitoring, reporting, assessment, and behaviour systems.
