Pathfinders Trip: Students Explore University Life

On Friday 14th March, Guilsborough Academy students embarked on their final Pathfinders trip of the year to Lincoln College, University of Oxford. This was the last of six trips for our Year 11 students who were part of the pilot Pathfinders programme - and what a day it was!

Year 9 students enjoyed a tourism taster lecture and explored the library archives, while Year 10 students delved into the world of psychology and visited the Museum of Natural History. Meanwhile, Year 11 students had the opportunity to tour Magdalen College and learn about volcanoes at Oxford Earth Sciences - complete with an exciting demonstration involving exploding film pots!

All students came together for lunch and an engaging introductory Criminology lecture, providing a valuable insight into university life. A huge thank you to Andrew Miller and the team for organising such a varied and engaging programme. It was also great to catch up with Noah Scull, one of our student ambassadors, who continues to represent Guilsborough Academy proudly at Oxford.

The Pathfinders programme has provided our students with incredible experiences and valuable insights into higher education.

We look forward to seeing how this inspires their future ambitions!
